Climb Kilimanjaro Lemosho Route

Schedule - 7 Days / 6 Nights

Mount Kilimanjaro Lemosho Route

Mount Kilimanjaro is Africa’s highest mountain. Its snow-capped summit looms majestically just below 6,000 meters and on clear days can be seen from great distances. Kilimanjaro contains examples of virtually every ecosystem on earth: glacier, snowfields, deserts, alpine moorland, savannah, and tropical jungle—all of which are found on the mountain. The Lemosho route captures great views of the landscape of Amboseli National Park as well as the green Mountains of the Meru. This is the most remote way up the mountain and the route takes 7 days on the mountain. The first day takes you through dense rainforest. On the second hiking day, there is a beautiful view of Kibo. The trail carries through the Shira Plateau on the third day. After hiking through a rock desert, you make your way to the Lava Tower to rest for the night. The following day, there is a short scramble to the top of the Great Barranco.

Requirements: The ascent of Mt. Kilimanjaro does not require professional climbing skill. Perseverance and altitude acclimation are the most important components to summiting Kilimanjaro. On average, hikers trek around five to seven hours a day, and in extreme circumstances, twelve to fourteen with many breaks. The landscape mostly consists of solid rock, rubble, marsh land, and brush. Due to thinned air, cold weather, and inclined trails, good physical fitness is needed to summit. It is recommended to be in good aerobic health. Summiting cannot be guaranteed due to bad weather conditions.
